Jay spent about 4 hours shoveling/Bradley spent about 4 hours skiing. Ummmmm.... is there anything wrong with that scenerio? We are happy that he LOVES to go skiing and it only last for a few months out of the year. We do encourage him to go as often as his grades and time permit. He is always willing to help whenever asked and sometimes on his own when not asked! Cyndi and baby Ruthie flew in. Unfortunately, Lisa and Cyndi missed each other by hours. We didn't know Lisa's departure date to the Ukraine until after we booked the ticket. Another unfortunate mishap was that the pictures from the whole weekend were wiped off my camera before they could be downloaded> so sorry no pictures but know that we had a FUN TIME! Here's our itenary:
Thursday: Amber picked up Cyndi and hung out at Temple Square, had lunch with dad,, came home, had dinner and watched Julie/Julia - Bed 12:30 a.m.
Friday: shopping at IKEA, lunch at IKEA (my first trip), Amber went to work, Cyndi and I made bruschetta, smoothies and ben soup for dinner - Bed 12:30 a.m.
Saturday: Dad and Cyndi went on a run, Girls had facials (another first for me), had a great luncheon with family and friends at the house, went to the Hale Theater and saw April Ann (an original play written by Nathan and Ruth Hale) - Bed 1:00 a.m.
Sunday: Church at 9:00, lunch and off to the airport.

THANK YOU PAUL FOR LETTING CYNDI AND RUTH COMEJay and JoAnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09486412140338422926noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5446576061077485038.post-890197105079090082010-01-17T20:11:00.001-08:002010-01-17T20:14:11.380-08:00On Christmas day we packed the car and headed for Pahrump NV. We enjoyed a weekend with the Bateman family celebrating Christmas. Creating a legacy of love was the theme of the reunion. Dad and Mom had saved their "love letters" from his mission. They courted during his mission. We were able to create a book of love letters and present it to them. It was a tender, fun weekend for Utah and Calfornia cousins to get together. Papa came down just for the weekend and went to the Alabama/Mississppi football game with Paul. I stayed another week to help out with the Ruthie, Eden and David. Cyndi is super woman and I'm sure could have handled it on her own but it was wonderful to spend some time with the family. Amber flew down the second weekend and we were able to go back to HUNTSVILLE ALABAMA to the wedding of one of her best friends - Her mom is one of my best friends so it was heartwarming to visit with friends and see the sights, smells and sounds of Huntsville. Over the years as I've been curling them the thought has occured to me, "wouldn't it be awful if this gadget ripped out my lashes?" Well I've been safe for the last 36 years. A couple of months ago I was in a hurry getting ready for work. My hand slipped and the next thing I knew my eyelash curler was full of MY long eyelashes. I thought, "Well, I did it. I hope they grow back, so I don't look like a chemo patient for the rest of my life. I do have some false eyelashes from my "dress up make up" that I could try and put on. " After 15 minutes of trying to get the glue and the lashes in place, I said, "To heck with it". I'll just wear eyeliner and my glasses instead of my contacts for awhile! Just so you know, eyelashes do grow back but SLOWLY!Jay and JoAnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09486412140338422926noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5446576061077485038.post-12535367627136283372009-01-25T09:04:00.000-08:002009-01-25T09:06:48.678-08:00Winter Wonderland

Make a Smilebox slideshow

I tried to post one picture at a time but it was taking too long, so here's another smile box.
Jay and JoAnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09486412140338422926noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5446576061077485038.post-69425282482028237212009-01-23T05:41:00.000-08:002009-01-23T05:54:34.416-08:00More pictures Since it usually takes a roll of film to get a few decent pictures, thought a share a few.

Jay and JoAnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09486412140338422926noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5446576061077485038.post-84073920085258038272009-01-19T22:10:00.000-08:002009-01-19T22:35:34.104-08:00Happy New Year!

We survived the annual Christmas picture! As we are taking the pictures, Tyler leans over to Bradley and says, " I hate this!" I lean over and say, "Smile, it's only once a year!" As you can see from the pictures it was a beautiful clear day. In Utah that doesn't mean it was WARM and clear, usually COOOLD and clear. I'm surprised our breath didn't show up in the pictures. (It felt like 10 deg. with the wind! I was jealous of all the So. Cal Christmas card pictures.) We do enjoy the beautiful scenery the snow blesses us with, and I don't think Bradley could survive without snow skiing every winter.

We do want to take this opportunity and thank EVERYONE for their Christmas cards. We enjoy getting your letters and keeping updated with your family. After last year, I decided to send our family Christmas cards the cheaters way, by way of blogging. 2008 bought many joys and blessings to our family. Family vacations, family reunions, Tyler coming home from his mission, Lisa going off to college, visiting our children and grandchildren in Mississippi and Dutch John, going to Hawaii, working, reorganizing, and enjoying life. Again, as with each year, we wish each of you a safe and peaceful new year and may the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ dwell in your heart. If you are EVER in Provo, please give us a call. With only 4 people in a 6 bedroom house, we always have room for guests.
Jay and JoAnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09486412140338422926noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5446576061077485038.post-75847312011604809462008-12-29T17:37:00.000-08:002008-12-29T17:40:04.932-08:00Happy Holidays!Trying to get EVERYONE for a family picture was impossible this year! We did miss some of our family members who couldn't make it but want you to know that we love you!Jay and JoAnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09486412140338422926noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5446576061077485038.post-24808161193669417402008-11-16T16:55:00.000-08:002008-11-16T16:59:16.885-08:00Bass 2008

Make a Smilebox scrapbook

I know I'm back tracking! We had such a wonderful summer, enjoying many family vacations and reunions of both sides of the family. This is a small highlight of our annual trip to Bass Lake California, located in Central California, nestled up in the mountains close to Yosemite.
Jay and JoAnnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09486412140338422926noreply@blogger.com2
